Travel Story
Fairy Meadows, locally known as Joot, is a grassland near one of the base camp sites of the Nanga Parbat, located in Diamer District, Gilgit-Baltistan.
The Journey:
It starts with a thrilling (and terrifying) jeep ride from Raikot Bridge to Tato Village. From Tato, it is a 3-4 hour hike. The trail is moderate but gains altitude, so take it slow.
Accommodation:
You can rent wooden cabins or camp in tents under the Billion Star Hotel (the clear night sky).
The View:
Waking up to the reflection of the Killer Mountain (Nanga Parbat) in the small lake at Fairy Meadows is a memory that will stay with you forever.
